Love Is...
Ask people to define love and you will get many different answers. Think about it...How would you define love? To me, love is just being in the presence of my beautiful wife Lisa. It's the twinkle in her eye when she smiles at me. It's the tender touch of her hand in mine. It's knowing that when I wake up to each new day, that she'll be there with me. It's a soft word spoken at just the right moment, it's a gentle kiss, it's a hug after a bad day. It's so many things it's hard to put into words. Love is amazing, it's incredible, it's the greatest thing we could ever experience or know.
The Bible defines love this way, "Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not jealous or boastful, love is not proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. Love does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices in truth. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT).
The greatest gift of love is found through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die on a cross so that we could be forgiven of our sin and have the free gift of eternal life. It doesn't matter what we've done or where we've been in life, God loves us with an unconditional love. God loves you and He cares about you. Will you give Him a chance to show you the love He has for you? Is Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of your life? If not, I would encourage you to say this simple prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I know I'm a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sins, to come into my life, to be my Lord and Savior, and to help me live for you."
If you prayed those words, you are now a child of the King! Go in peace and enjoy the presence of God's love.
Until next time...
