Summer Vacation Is Here!!
Wow!! I can't believe it's been so long since I've written anything here! Hope everyone is enjoying thier summer vacation. Summer vacation brings fun times like family trips to the beach, pool parties and cook outs. For some it might also be the start of your first job or the joy of getting your driver's permit or license. Whatever the case may be, I hope you're all having a wonderful summer break! The Hogue family went to Virginia Beach for our summer vacation and had a great time! We went swimming at the beach, laid out in the sun, strolled along the water's edge in the cool sand at sunset, walked the boardwalk, and just had a wonderful, peaceful time.
When I remember our get-away I'm reminded of a few things that God showed me during the trip. One is that when we would walk along the beach at night, we would leave our footprints in the sand. I can't help but remember the beautiful poem( http://www.llerrah.com/footprints.htm) that reminds us all how God carries us through the tough times in life. He's always near by and never leaves us. To read the poem is one thing but it seems to come to life after you've walked along the beach and left your footprints at the water's edge. Another thing is when we would lay in the sand, walk through it, or try to clean it off of ourselves as we left the beach, I was reminded of the promise God gave to Abraham, His faithful servant. Abraham demonstrated complete faith and trust in God when he was willing to sacrifice his son as God had commanded and because of this faith, God promised to bless him by multiplying his seed as the stars in the sky and as the sand upon the seashore. What a blessing! There were a few things that just caused me to feel awed at the awesomeness of God's creation such as the beauty of the sunrise shining over the water, the beautiful picture of the golden sand set against a massive amount of blue ocean, and watching the waves come in and thinking of how the tides come in and go out every day. It just makes real the fact that God has control over everything and created everything to work in His perfect timing. Our God is so amazing!! Well, with that I'll go for now. As you enjoy the rest of your summer break, I hope you'll remember to Keep God first in all you do. Remember that He's always there, He loves you with an everlasting love and He'll never leave you.
May God bless you!
