GPS-God's Positioning System

I'll be preaching to our church congregation this Sunday about the U.S. GPS Navigation System. 24 satellites constantly orbit around the earth sending information to receivers here on the ground that can tell exactly where that receiver is located and can give its exact lattitude, longitude, and altitude. It's amazing when you stop to think about how the whole system works. As amazing as this system is, more amazing is our Heavenly Father who spoke light, the sun, moon, stars, earth, people, animals and all of creation into existence just by saying the word.
GPS Navigation works when a receiver picks up signals from at least 3 of these 24 satellites and then the information collected is figured that gives that receiver's coordinates. Today, these receivers are available for purchase for less than $200 and can be used in vehicles to provide turn by turn directions, show maps to locations and find nearby places of interest.
Something to think about...another type of GPS Navigation system is God's Positioning System which comes with one very special receiver, the Bible. It provides step by step directions that will direct us through life but just like a vehicle's GPS Navigation receiver, it will be of no use to us if we don't follow the direction it provides and trust and believe the message it contains. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path."
Where are you right now in life? Are you following God's Positioning System? Are you on the straight and narrow path that the Bible instructs you to follow? I pray you are. The Bible introduces us to a loving Savior, Jesus Christ. By accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, you can have the gift of eternal life.
If you don't know Christ as your Savior, then make today the day that you hook up to God's Positioning System and get back on the right path in life.
Until next time...
:)
