The Greatest Of These Is Love

February is the month when we celebrate Valentine's Day and Valentine's Day means love. For some of you, this special day will bring greeting cards, maybe a gift or maybe a dinner date. It's a special day when we spend time with the one we love. You know, God is the One who designed and created this crazy thing we call love. He loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die on a cross so that we could have eternal life. When Jesus walked this earth and taught His disciples and those that followed Him, He spoke about love. One of His most well known teachings concerning love was this: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your strength and with all your soul, and love your neighbor as yourself." Remember this: We need to first remember the One who created love, God our Heavenly Father. Then, we need to remember others. So in the next few weeks when you're thinking of Valentine's Day and that special someone and all the wonderful things that go along with this special time of the year, remember to spend time with God in prayer and the study of His Word. Remember to show love to others by speaking a kind word, doing a good deed, or just by being someone who will listen and care.

"Let your light so shine before men that they might see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!! Lisa and I look forward to what God will do in and through the lives of our students in the upcoming year. As we begin this new year, if you're like me and a lot of other people in the world, you've probably already made some resolutions that you would like to achieve throughout the days and months to come. Can I suggest three resolutions that we should all strive to achieve throughout this upcoming year? 1. Make it a goal to read your Bible each and everyday. Pray that God would show you what He would have you to learn from your reading. 2. Make a goal to spend time in prayer each day. An important part of any relationship is communication. God loves to hear from us. You can go to the Lord in prayer any time you want, and no need is too big or too small. 3. Make it a goal this year to win someone to Christ. How do we do that? Be an effective witness for God. Represent Jesus to those around you in everything you do and say.
Most of the resolutions we make will benefit us in the here and now, these three will bring eternal rewards!
Lisa and I pray that God will richly bless each and everyone of you throughout this new year!
